Smithson returned briefly to London in 1825-26, to put his papers in order and write his will. While in the city, he visited this very fashionable exhibition, at the Egyptian Hall in Piccadilly. The show featured a diorama with a live Mexican, who is shown here in the center of the picture talking to one of the visitors.
