The
New Media Office oversees the SIL website, including online exhibitions,
digital editions, management of contracted imaging, in-house imaging
for special projects and publications, and other web products The
Office is divided into two units: Divided into two units, the Design
Group and the Imaging Center
The
Design Group is responsible for all graphic and website design for
the Libraries. Working in collaboration of project curators, outside
contractors, and others, the Design Group creates the look and feel
of the SIL web presence.
The
Imaging Center provides high quality digital images for the Libraries.
Imaging work is done for projects mounted on the SIL website, but
also for support purposes such as gallery exhibition design and
installation, print publications for use by SIL, SI or non-SI projects,
publicity images, Development publications, and Director's Office
requests. Additionally, other "on-demand" scanning may
be done as resources permit. Staff at the Imaging Center is also
responsible for workflow elements of imaging done by outside vendors.
