Dated from HPT. Goff dated 1483-85. Often found with Ludolphus de Suchen (Goff L364) and Sir John Mandeville (Goff M160).
Translated from the Franco-Italian by F. Pipino.
Title extracted from incipit (leaf a1 recto), which reads: In nomine D[omi]ni N[ost]ri Ih[es]u [Christ]i filij Dei viui et veri amen. Incipit p[ro]logus i[n] libro d[omi]ni Marci Pauli de Venecijs De co[n]suetudinibus et co[n]dicionibus orientaliu[m] regionu[m].
Colophon (leaf k6 recto) reads: Explicit liber d[omi]ni Marci de Venecijs Deo gracias.
Imprint from Goff; most of the bibliographies cited below have Gouda as the place of publication for this edition, but Polain and NUC Pre-1956, v. 464, p. 371, name Antwerp instead.
Signatures: a-h8 i4 k6.
Leaves printed on both sides; 32-33 lines per page.
Spaces left for initials.
Final p. is blank.
With: Mandeville, John, Sir. [Itinerarium]. [Gouda : Gerard Leeu, between 1483 and 1485]. Probably bound together subsequent to publication.
Bookplate: Burndy Library ... gift of Bern Dibner.
Rubricated vellum waste leaves (from an unidentified Latin ms. of the Confessions of St. Augustine?) used for front and back endpapers.
Old blind-stamped full leather binding; raised bands; re-backed; metal clasp wanting. In modern drop-back box.
