Comments and Notes: Caption title, from incipit (leaf a2 recto). Place of publication from Goff; date of publication extracted from colophon (leaf s5 verso). Identification of printer/publisher disputed: Proctor attributes publication to N. Jenson; BM 15th cent. suggests that "this puzzling book is perhaps a work of the printer who produced an edition of Dante, Divina commedia, at Naples on 12 April, 1477, with what appears to be exactly the same type." Leaves printed on both sides; 48 lines per page. Signatures: a10 b-q8 r-s6. First leaf (a1) is blank. Text in double columns. Caption title (a2 recto) printed in red. Spaces for initials. Imperfect: leaves a1, a10, h1 and h8 wanting; leaves h1 and h8 replaced by blank leaves. Rubricated in red, blue and brown inks throughout. Old ms. annotations throughout. Ms. note at top of leaf a2 recto reads: Ex bibliotheca cenobii Brigantini, ord. S. Bened. Bookplate: Burndy Library ... gift of Rev. George F. Baldino. Bookseller's ticket: C.E. Rappaport, libri rari, Roma. Bound in old blind-stamped, alum-tawed pigskin over wooden boards; raised bands; metal clasp wanting; old ms. waste used to reinforce binding structure.
