American entertainer Eddie Cantor was born Edward Israel Isskowitz in New York City. The original of this image, showing Cantor in the 1933 musical Roman Scandals, was created for the Los Angeles Record, November 11, 1934, by newspaper caricaturist Joe Grant (b.1908), who later became one of the Disney Studio's major animators.
