July 6th Today has been climatically speaking, the finest since we have been in New Guinea. Early this morning there was no fog and most of the day the sky was of brilliant blue as far as the eye could see. In the afternoon a few light white summery clouds only served to enhance the blueness of the sky. In spite of the fair weather today the river has continued to rise until it is now at the highest point it has reached since the first month we were here.
