Rattan bridge of the pygmies across the Noguloo near Tombe; Bridge over Rouffaer |
C3: |
Suspension bridge of rattan across the gorge of the Nogullo River near Tombe. These bridges are constructed by suspending two bundles of rattan cables across the stream and then suspending from these a footpath by other strips of rattan giving the bridge a V-shaped cross-section. Each end of the bridge is securely anchored by spreading out the individual rattans comprising the cables and anchoring them securely to rocks and trees. |
