Using the Library

Library hours may vary. When planning a visit, be sure to call ahead to confirm that they will be open.

The NMNH main library is open from 8:45am to 5:15 PM Monday through Friday.
The library is closed on all federal holidays.

Within the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) there are also library collections located in various departments including Minerals, Vertebrate Paleontology, Entomology, Mollusks, Worms/Echinoderms/Coelenterates, Copepods, Crustacea, Amphibians and Reptiles, Fish, Birds, and Mammals.
