Several SI units have collected research publication information in the past. The SIL has been in contact with many of them and has made arrangements to incorporate this data into the Research Bibliography.
Publication data from the Tropical Research Institute, Environmental Research Center and National Zoological Park has been kept in standard bibliographic management software for many years. These units will send periodic updates to the SIL information services librarian for inclusion into the Research Bibliography. This data may need to be amended to conform to the SRB standards.
The Museum of Natural History has collected publication data for several years in a system developed in-house. For various reasons this database will be converted and turned over to be managed by the SIL. As of October 1, 2007 Natural History staff can enter publication data in their existing system or by using the SIL web forms. Previously entered NH publication data will be incorporated into the SIL system by January 2008. Until that time, the two systems will remain separate and generating a *complete* list of staff publications will require checking both systems. Please contact the information services librarian (listed below) for publication information that may supplement data retrieved via the existing Natural History publication list.
Within a short time, the aggregated data will be available via public web page as well as being used to create custom reports and web content. Please contact the information services librarian if you have any questions or concerns.
