Searching the Inventory
The vast majority of the Smithsonian Libraries Trade Literature Collection has not yet been digitized and is not available online. Descriptions of and links to the subsets that are available online are listed on the Trade Literature home page. However, you can search an inventory of our collections by typing a word or phrase in the search box on the left side of this page. The inventory is based around the name of the company, rather than the "title" of individual catalogs or manuals. Searching the inventory will allow you to see if we hold items produced by a particular company: e.g., Studebaker, or if we have items from companies that were working in a specific industry: e.g., the steel industry, or produced a general category of product: e.g., luggage.
