U.S.
Schooner Sea Gull
Commanded by Passed Midshipman James Reid, the Sea Gull was a New
York pilot boat with a crew of only fifteen. Formerly known as the New
Jersey. The Sea Gull joined the squadron at Hampton Roads,
August 12, 1839. It was lost in the Spring of 1839 off Cape Horn.
